Twisted Tree

Our unpredictable and sometimes vicious climate often has a sculpturing effect, not only on the rocks but also the trees.

This tree, whose botanical name I failed to record, is made from hand-made felt on a hand-painted silk background and is adorned with yarns of various textures. These days you can get an amazing array of different textured yarns and they are wonderful to use to create areas of gnarled bark. Or, you can make your own, as explained in the 'how-to' section. I rather enjoyed the open aspect of this picture as compared with the vetches and herb robert.
